The Gospel According to Joel Osteen

Here’s the gospel according to Joel Olsteen:

After watching this, one wonders: what about the exclusive nature of the gospel that Jesus proclaims in John 14:6 and other countless exclusive claims? Also, a discerning mind asks, does sincerity equals salvation? In other words, does God save a person as long as one is sincere about “God”?

  1. Lame, isn’t it?

Sadly, it sounds like Billy Graham in his elder years. What part of “No one comes to the Father except through me” is difficult to understand?

    Thanks for highlighting that, Jim!

  2. What’s tragic is that Olsteen (and host of others) represents the typical and acceptable view of “Christianity” in our evangelical community. I cry out and join men who pray and preach for new reformation!

  3. Gwen,

Doug B is the pastor of United Reformed Church, one of the local pastors in town, and also whom I consider to be a friend. He is a man who loves the Lord and has highest regard for Scripture.

In regards to Billy Graham, I’d recommend you read Evangelicalism Divided by Iain Murray.
