Make sure to change your clock 1 hour backward this Saturday night before you hit the bed.
To answer how best to use one hour gain, I’m sure there may be myriads of suggestions. Let me offer one pastoral suggestion – sleep! Yes, sleep. Sleep for the glory of God.
People don’t often think of sleeping as a spiritual exercise, but it is one of the most effective spiritual exercises. Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not encouraging laziness here.
Many researchers indicate that more Americans are sleep-deprived than ever. Isn’t that odd? We would think that the more advanced technologies and gadgets we have, the easier our lives would be. That may be true in many sense, but surely it does not reflect on our sleep. Please keep in mind that we have biblical obligation to take care of our physical bodies, well as spiritual bodies. Hence, use one hour gain to replenish your cells, burn your calories, help lower heart-attacks, especially, on men, by sleeping – all for the glory of God.
Sleeping is one spiritual exercise that you cannot fail. However, it is equally true that even sleeping is a gift from God. Hence, thank the Lord for such a gift, and even make your petition for a sound sleep unto the Lord.
Please, don’t hinder your pastors’ spiritual exercise on the early morning of this Sunday. If emergency, contact Jesus.
